    4 month update:

    The Pros :
    1. I guess hair loss has stopped or reduced drastically... For the past 18 to 20 months hair loss was very obvious.. but in the last 4 months and spanning 2 haircuts I do not see any further hair loss. My hairline has stopped receding
    2. No loss in Sex Drive
    3. No loss in muscle mass
    4. Body seems to have got used to this, as in my first few weeks I did have minor sexual sides, but not any more..
5.Totally stopped thinking about hair loss

    The cons:
    1. It is still a chemical which I necessarily do not want to intake daily. I hope an alternative non-invasive cure is found soon...

10 weeks update: As some people mention here, Hairloss concern is the least on my head now. All I do is pop a pill every morning and that's about it... Previously while in the gym or just about any mirror I would take a second look at my hair seeing where it is receding. Now I dont do it anymore

So does it mean that its working for me?.. Well certainly my hair loss has not increased, so it is kinda working for me. Sides are absent, and my muscle strength remains the same if not increased

Coming back to my earlier post of destiny, well both my parents have awesome hair and me moms at age 55 is not greying yet! My dad has very little hairloss which is expected at his age of 57, though his hair started greying in his late 20s..

In my case i started getting a few grey hair in my early 20s and hence i thought i'll take my dad's hair pattern.. but then my elder brother started balding at around 24 and now at 28 has lost most of his hair. Balding started with me too at 24, which is when I started noticing it, and realized I had actually got the gene from my mom's dad(the gene being recessive in my mom, but dominant in me and my brother)... i am 26.5 yrs and at this age my brother was in his mid to advanced stage of balding... With me, because of Propecia that is not happening.. I was balding rapidly till I started medication, and now surely the rate of hairloss has declined...

I plan to stay on this med till I enter my 30s beyond which balding is normal in atleast 50 to 60% guys...

So you're basically saying he shouldn't have started a family or lived his life normally because he was BALD? Living your life normally at the expense of your children IS what being self-centered is all about, dumb ****. When you KNOW you're passing bad genes to your children but you insist on doing it anyway to satisfy your selfish desires at best is what I'm against. When a father for example who has dwarfism marries a woman who has it too and they decide to have children the only thing people can think of is "they have the right to have a family blah blah blah.." What idiots like you don't ever want to think about is the child who's being born to be cursed with whatever jacked genes his parents have without him/her ever having a say in the matter, and then having to live a ****ed up life of suffering because his ****ing parents "wanted to start a family.." Obviously the vast majority of people NEVER see it this way. Of course when the child is born with whatever deformity every body starts blaming god somehow. Well, like I said, you're too dumb for this and I'm not going to waste time on you.
So yeah, I'm "blaspheming" my father. If you have a problem with it go **** yourself or don't read what I have to say and DONT stick your nose in people's personal lives that you know nothing about.

Why dont you do us a favour and remove yourself from the gene pool then?

Oh and I couldn't give a shit if the anamosity towards your father was down to the fact that he butt ****ed you as a child buddy, its non of my business.

I hope propecia gets your dick and you have to masterbate with the aid of a penis implant, you ****.

The only thing you need to worry about is whether Fin will work for you or not. Hopefully it will.

In fact, I believe Fin's side effects seem to affect a smaller number of people than many other major meds seem to affect. Let's NOT forget that Fin/Dut are actually medication that are prescribed daily to treat prostate problems. If these drugs were as dangerous as some paranoid nut cases would like us to believe they would've been banned long time ago.

The most important thing is to NOT listen to what people say, and don't think or even be expecting those effects -some people literally expect them- because chances are your brain will start ****ing with you and you'll probably start seeing them.

Been using Fin -and minox- since '98 and I have yet to experience any negatives. All I can say it has probably slowed down my hair loss but didn't halt it.
That's true about the sides. I always keep a positive mind and brush off sides as just psychological[whether they're real or not]. I have taken propecia/finasteride on and off since I was 18, this is the longest i've been on it. Never experienced sides, and if it really is psychological, then it's not getting me, no offense to anybody but i'm just too mentally focused on reality, to give too much thought to a seemingly imaginary side effect. And you know, if it is a real side effect, then i'm grateful that it hasn't happened to me and I am very sorry for those it did effect and I hope nothing but the best for Finasteride side effect sufferers.

Anyone else who started on Fin this year care to share their experience so far?

As I said I've been on it for 4 months now after Rogaine finally failed me. Not sure if it's working yet. That could be a sign that it is working I suppose but I have kept my hair long so maybe I'm just covering the bald parts better.
Been on fin for 7 months. If I say it hasn't been successful, that's just me being greedy. It has considerably slowed down my hair loss so much, that I believe it has actually halted it, I don't even notice any excessive hair loss. I believe it has actually regrown hair on my vertex, and I would have definitely been worse without fin. No side sexual side effects. I have convinced myself to give it 18 months before really seeing what it has done for me in terms of regrowth.

My father not only passed this curse to us, but other shitty things (genes) too. But hey, who cares as long as HE was happy !

So you're blaspheming your father for bringing YOU into this world and was either too inconsiderate to realise you too will eventually end up bald thus a bad idea OR he had more important things to worry about besides being ****ing bald?

So you're basically saying he shouldn't have started a family or lived his life normally because he was BALD? Give me a ****ing break dude. You're either a really self centered sad human being or your qualms with your father lie way deeper than the honest human nature of multiplication, which is non of my business lies.

Lol damn you're being too harsh on your dad.

But I feel you though. I have thought the same exact thoughts you just commented. The best we can do as MPB sufferers is at least find a women who has no MPB in her family[I know it's hard to cherrypick a exactly what you want and it's unrealistic and unfair]. But my father went out and dated my mother, who all of her brothers have MPB and her father has MPB. Great, thanks dad, so you're bald and you go out with a women who comes form a bald family, so I was basically ****ed before I was even born. My mom doesn't have MPB though, none of her sisters do either, it's only the males.

With that said, I wouldn't pick any other parents if I had the chance to go back honestly. My mother passed down her straight hair to me, well wtf do I care about what type of hair I have if i'm losing it but hey, it's the thought that matters. My dad also passed down his eyebrows to me, which people think I pluck them but really don't. Also, with MPB and everything, people still think i'm a teenager, thanks to my mother passing her young genes to me. My mother looks like she's in her mid 30s, but she's close to 50. So I guess I was balanced with good and evil, can't have it all your way. I'm sure you too can find positives that your mom and dad give you, no?
