I'm close to pulling the trigger and having a HT, however I'm worried that it may still be too early and that I should lose more hair first. Of course, this means continuing to spend extra time on styling my hair, and slowly looking worse over the years (I'm 32 now, been actively fighting against hairloss for 11 years)
I watched a video today on how Robbie Williams has depleted all of his donor and now he can't have any more HTs, and hes just shaving it off. Then I checked out Wayne Rooney out of curiosity (he had a HT 11 years ago) and his hair looks complete shit now, granted I know he was using toppik concealer after his HT to improve the appearance of full coverage with good density, but there are some really bad recent photos, where he may as well just be bald.
I have no intention of ever stopping taking the medication for hair loss, but as my dad is a NW5, I worry that even on the drugs, I'll eventually, even if slowly, end up with the same hair loss.
I checked to see photos of him from when I was born, he was a year older than I currently am, and I was surprised to see how good his hair looked. granted he has better hair quality than i do naturally, but his hair looked pretty great for 33. Over the next few years it got pretty significantly worse, and just slowly disappeared. he's 65 now and pretty much all gone on top.
I really dont want this fate, If I have to use all of my donor to keep a full head, then so be it. I just want to see some real long term success stories. I feel like there aren't enough examples online of long term HT successes. This is still such a young and trendy industry.
