I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but I had a thoroughly good laugh at it so I thought I'd share it here!
Apparently this guy called Paul Taylor (a BSc no less...) claims the reason we go bald in a pattern is because our scalp is continuing to grow. This reduces circulation of blood and nutrients and therefore stops hair growing. Apparently he spent seven years discovering this and provides plenty of after (but no before) photos.
Now, of course, the simple question is this. If that is the case, how on earth do hair transplants work you nutjob?
