Some Thoughts on Baldness

Even though I'm from the states and nobody here knows who he is.
I think Bill Bailey is probably one of the funniest and smartest comedians
on the planet. And he makes his rather unique look work for him.
He can still rock the long hair look.

Actually, I think you've hit on something there. Men with too much hair (eg. Michael MacIntyre, Paul Merton, Jonathon Ross, Rory McGrath) are not funny. Maybe it's because they come across like arrogant c**ts instead of funny men. Bald men are (eg. Dara O'Briain, Andy Parsons, Ian Hislop).

There are exceptions. Mel Smith is bald and not remotely funny, whilst Ricky Gervais who has hair is funny (although that might be because he always presumably acts in character when he does stand up. Either that or he really is a t**t!) Also, it's not so much that comedians must be bald, they just mustn't have too much hair (perhaps too much hair makes them look like clowns?) Think Frankie Boyle, for example.

Oh, and taking this trend to the extreme, it might explain why female stand up comedians aren't funny. Ever. (Or perhaps it's because 99.9% of the time their material relies on 'men are crap' jokes which are basically of the same low quality as 'wife' and 'mother in law' jokes).

Michael Chiklis was fairly unknown until he shaved his head, got in shape and was then cast in the excellent "Shield" series.

Went from strength to strength ever since.

Via email, a family friend in Switzerland asked me about the Tea Party last year.
"So a lot of poor people are taking time off work to demand less help from the government than they're already getting?" Well yes, but some of them are lower-middle class to be fair

The greatest irony about the Tea Party is that Americans don't know how to make a good cup of tea.

That and the fact that the average member of the Tea Party never gets invited to parties.

As if the day couldn't get any worse, now an American thinks I like wrestling! It's the sort of entertainment you'd have at a gay wedding isn't it? Although Americans aren't too keen on that sort of thing are they? I always presumed that the average American's intolerance of homosexuality was the reason for so much closet gay culture in the States.

I dont really have much of an opinion on Steve Austin one way or another........but he seems the subject of some ridicule here.......... yet you all know him and his character pretty well, even without his acting. Maybe your not as unfamiliar with his wrestling as you portray
