Hello BTT family,
As some of you know, I took finasteride for 9 years with success. This past September, I had a huge shed that is still ongoing at the same rate (losing 300+ hairs daily). The first couple pics and last are from today at age 34 after 1.5 months of continued shedding. The 3rd picture is from November 2010 before starting finasteride. I was 25 years old NW1 at the time I discovered my thinning spot. This probably isn’t a fair assessment to finasteride because I only started DUT last month and It has not slowed or stopped the shedding. My hair is worse than it has ever been, and all the hair that fin regrew on my crown has disappeared.
Every morning when I shower, I find so many loose hairs on my crown that its worrying me. I’m shedding from all over the scalp including non mpb areas. I applied minoxidil foolishly to my hair line on September7th and stopped and noticed the increase in shedding begun 2 weeks after.
Any advice for someone who is losing a huge amount of hair since September. Fin stopped my hair loss fairly quickly almost a decade ago, I’ve been on DUT for 1 month with no change. Is it possible that the hair I lost on the crown will grow back on DUT?
