Need some advice please

I'm quite unsure as to which treatment would be best for me at this point. I went through some major trauma in my life for the last 3 years. Not eating right, lost weight very quickly and had surgery on one kidney. During this time my hair has been fading away. It seemed to kick in gear more when I was on accutane.

When I look at my family, no one has any hair loss. So I'm wondering, have I lucked out, or is this a result of a messed up immune system. Results of my blood test should arrive soon in the next few days.

I've attached some pics. I would like to know that if we were to zoom in on someones hairloss, would it present as many vellus hairs as shown in my pic? I'm just lost as to which point of balding I would be at at this moment. Is all the vellus hairs actually a positive sign?

You should wait until you obtain the results of your blood work before proceeding with treatment. If your hair loss was due to your immune system attacking the hair follicles, the treatment would be different and more aggressive compared to someone that had male pattern hair loss. If I am not wrong, I believe one of the side effects of Accutane is hair loss, and I have known a couple of individuals that lost their hair once they started taking it. Also, keep in mind that pattern hair loss can skip generations, so it may be a possibility. I would suggest contacting a doctor specialising in hair restoration and if possible, go see them for an in person consultation. Wish you the best of luck and hope you can get to the bottom of this
