When is hairline design in the FUE process? *** Urgent ***

Hi all,

Long story short, I have a surgery with AEK in Istanbul next Monday. Typically consultations with the doctor are scheduled the day before the surgery but seeing that my surgery is on Monday, it's not possible to attend on Sunday. I have two options:

(1) Fly into Istanbul earlier than expected to do the consultation on the Friday
(2) The alternative is to have the consultation with the doctor half way through the Monday after graft extraction is complete

I am slightly nervous about option 2. I expect my entire head (and not just the donor area) will be shaved before the extraction phase. During the consultation when he designs the hairline, he will not be able to properly examine my current hair loss, hair thickness, angle and direction etc so he can properly design the eventual hairline.

Are my concerns fair or will this not be a problem for an experience doctor like Dr Karadeniz?

If normal hair length makes hairline design easier, are there cases where only the donor area is shaved for extraction phase, then the hairline is designed and then the remainder of the hair is shaved prior to graft insertion?

Any responses would be SUPER helpful as I have to make a decision on which day to fly in tomorrow

I see nobody responsed to this, I was also faced with the same dilemma but decided to catch an earlier flight and stay an extra night. Did you end up having the consultation after the graft extraction.....how did it go?

Was going to get the earlier flight but they reassured me everything would be OK. Let's see next week!
