    State Of The Crown

Hey guys, been struggling to work out what’s going on with my crown. A friend of mine mentioned it as a bit thin a few months ago and have got his opinion stuck in my mind. I saw a trichologist who identified it as a cowlick but unsure what real deal is now. Any thoughts?

Sorry to say brother but it looks like thinning in the crown to me. The first photo is under pretty harsh lighting, but the subsequent photos suggest this also. Are considering any medication to effectively attempt to control/stop and maybe help with growth?

Hello, do you have a history of baldness in your family?

No baldness. All uncles, grandfathers, and father have full heads. Some thinning in most but would be considered to have thick heads of hair for their age.

Okay. Without wishing to cause panic IMHO it does look as if your crown is starting to thin, however it is in the very earlier stages. With no immedate bald or balding relatives I would get tested for any signs of hair miniaturisation around the crown area before getting fully panicked. Or just keep an eye on it with regular photos to see if it's getting worse, say over six months to a year.

Thank you for your advice. For reference, I’ve found 3 further pictures taken around a year before the original posting. Does it look like it’s progressed?

It's hard to tell, but it looks about the same. You have a small thinning section which extends up towards your midscalp, that is the only thing that worries me. If it wasn't for that I would have said it was a completely natural hair whorl .
