Don't forcibly remove the scabs. I'm not sure what your surgeons exact care instructions involved, but typically when washing your scalp, you'll allow the warm suds to sit on your scalp for a few minutes. Then as you gently clean the scalp with the sponge (or however your doctor instructed you) those scabs should easily and gently fall away.

At 12 days post op (and even longer at the point of this response), the grafts are already secure. Therefore, you can at least rest assured that they won't be dislodged. Keeping the scalp super clean and following the post-op care instructions should've kept these scabs away, so my suspicion is that you weren't cleaning it as good as you could have. This is quite common since many guys err on the side of caution and and are a little too precious when it comes to cleaning the recipient area post-op - but with proper care they will most likely fall away on their own.

I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My opinions/comments are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff.
