16 and losing hair at crown.. desperate for advice

Hi guys im 16, new here, and i've been losing hair at the crown for around half a year or so, but it got quite bad in the past 2-3 months. Almost all my friends have pointed it out to me, but its only in the crown area. My hairline and hair at the front is normal.

Last week, i visited a doctor, and he prescribed to me a shampoo which blocks 5alpha reductase to stop production of DHT (or something like that). I've done a fair amount of research, so i know that DHT causes hair loss, and I'm too young to take fin.

However, my main concern is that DHT is also responsible for male sexual development, and I'm afraid that if i block DHT (either by using this shampoo or by other methods such as saw palmetto or pumpkin seeds), my sexual development will be stopped/reduced. I asked my doctor about this, but he did not give a clear answer.

I tried looking for an answer online about any link between DHT blocking shampooo and sexual development, but i couldnt find a reliable answer. As the shampoo is only applied at the scalp, should it not affect my penis growth, libido, etc? Or is there still a connection? Also, if i dont use this shampoo, is there any other way to stop hair loss without affecting sexual development as a teen? Ive heard that minoxidil doesnt block DHT, but i wanted to make sure (umm I have a really small penis, and i dont want to stop its growth)

Thank you all so much for reading and any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

BTW my hair loss is genetic as my father and his brother are both almost completely bald. I have facial hair and very tall for my age (182cm) but my penis growth appears to be stalling for some reason .
