20 yr old; odd hair thinning on the side of hair only

Here's the story. In September, I transferred to some university in los angeles at the age of 20. This required me to leave home for the first time and to adopt sort of a new lifestyle in terms of eating habits and exercise. I used to eat a low fat diet, but everything here is so greasy that's its hard to keep eating that way without starving. Additionally, I used to run 2-3 times a week back home but now I only do it maybe once a week.

Anyways, about a month into being in my dorm, I started to notice that the left side of hair was thinning. Hair wasn't falling out, the side was just miniaturizing. It's February now and it seems to be getting ever so slightly worse. I'm just wondering, is this hair thinning permanent? And will it get worse, even when I return back to my old lifestyle after the semester? I'm very confused and just want some insight.

A little more info, I've been using nizoral shampoo and rogaine since I was 18.5 yrs old because I thought my hairline was receding. Looking at old pictures, my hairline looks the same as back then I just never noticed, but I continued using the products anyways out of fear.

The first two pics are of my left side in which you can see miniaturization, especially in the middle pic where it looks like a bald spot (sorry the lighting isn't very good). The other is of my right which doesn't show that.

I don't see any thinning on those pictures. Low fat is not healthy that was a lie all along...
