I've had a very slowly receding hairline since I was 15 and it's beginning to get to the point of being noticeable, particularly at the crown thinning, as I currently grow my sides at the temple areas a bit longer to cover up the damage. Big history of MPB in the family
Probably should have got involved a little sooner as it's been annoying me for twelve months, however have been put off by the idea of using regaine as it usually makes peoples hair look greasy, blocks skin poores and often gives people strange facial blob issues. Not interested in Propecia (As of yet) because of the substantial number of those with side effects.
I'm opting for the most part with approaches supported by studies that have a variety of different purposes such as anti-inflammation in the scalp, DHT blockers in the body, alpha 5 reductase reducers,a topical DHT disrupter, and a substantial number of anti-oxidants and vitamins that support hair growth and follicle health, namely:
ketoconazole
Biotin
Saw Palmetto
Pumpkin Seed Oil
Krill Oil (for astaxanthin)
Grape Seed
Pygeum Africanum
Green Tea Extract
Stinging Nettle Tea
Omega 3
For the case of ketoconazole, Biotin, Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seed Oil,Astaxanthin and Tocotrienol (which I won't be taking) there are multiple studies to be cited that suggest that INDIVIDUALLY on a regime of nothing else, these have been substantially
successful at at least inhibiting thinning or further balding.
Here are the products I will be using for a 6-12 (hopefully more) month period (depending on how successful they are):
HR23+ Multivitamin
Stinging Nettle Tea
Pumpkin Seed Oil
Krill Oil (phospholipid-bound astaxanthin)
Omega 3
Regenpure DR (Keteconozale) and NT Shampoo
And somewhat interested in Tocotrienol which has studies backing up its success, but haven't bought any
I appreciate that people love to bash anything other than Propecia round these parts, however there are plenty of studies to back most of this up INDIVIDUALLY for those suffering from Alopecia, here's hoping that as a whole they make a difference. Will report back in time.
If it works, I'll probably head to turkey to fill in the gaps in the front with 1000-1500 grafts and leave it at that with the current regime.
