Hair loss clumps (when showering) on Fin a year?

    Hi,

I've been on Fin 1mg since April of last year.
On and off I have noticed clumps of hair when shampooing my hair. Now, I am growing my hair long (It is still relatively short, but my bangs come to my eyes), and I was told to only wash my hair once or twice a week while growing. I have noticed lately clumps of hair when shampooing despite being on Fin. The first pic was from the last time I shampooed, on September 13. The next pic is from tonight.

    My question is:

    1) Is the amount I've shedded in the shower a "normal" (IE non MPB) amount given I hadn't shampooed in a week? Or is it indicative that that the Finasteride has stopped working or is not as effective as it once was?

    2) When growing hair long, should such clumps be expected even on a non-balding scalp?

    Sept 13

    Tonight:

The clumps seemed rather large to me but then again you have a lot of long hair on your head. So the hairs you do shed are going to look voluminous. So it's hard to say.

The clumps in the first two pix were after I didn't wash my hair for a WEEK.

These pix are after just a day. I washed it the night of September 21st after having washed it on September 20th. They say we lose 110-125 hairs in a day naturally. So...Does this look like non MPB shedding then?:

I wasn't losing that much hair even when my hair loss was peaking.

Worth an edit here but my hair wasn't as thick as yours when mpb kicked in. So maybe mine just seemed less. But I'm not convinced!

I would be a bit worried if I were you. What have your dermatologist said about this? Talk to him, he might ask you to stop Fin
