Planning to start fin - general qs for veteran finners

Just had a few questions for veteran fin users.

I'm planning to start fin soon - I've been on minox for a year now with 0 (in fact negative) results in slowing my hairline loss and I still shed something in excess of 100 hairs a day.

Regarding fin, I'm not so much worried about the potential sides as I am about the potential uncontrolled shedding in areas that weren't losing hair before. I've read some threads about people who took fin for hairline thinning, and ended up shedding like crazy all over the scalp and crown instead. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, I get that initial shedding on fin is largely different from person to person, but for those that are susceptible, what is the usual timeframe for the shedding period? (e.g. 2 months into treatment, lasting for 1 - 2 months like minox?)

And finally, which is worse - the minox shed or the fin shed?

I'd appreciate any advice, as I'm pretty desperate right now.

    Cheers!

    Hey man,

Just thought Id share my opinion with ya. I know you said you weren't worried about the side effects, which sure - may not even happen. But take them into consideration. Going on propecia was probably the worst decision I've ever made in my entire life.

If you do decide to do it, the shed from rogaine was worse. At least that's what I found.

    Good luck

      Hey dude,

Thanks for replying. I looked through your posts and I'm sorry that you had a shit experience on fin. I hope whatever it did to you was fixed when you stopped taking it. Would you mind if I asked whether you noticed any effects (hairwise) from taking fin during the 5 months or so that you were on it?

      Cheers

        Hey man,

Sorry for the late reply, I have been busy with work.

About 1-2 months in, I stared noticing some medium-aggressive shedding. I asked around and everyone told me it was completely normal and to stick it out as long as possible. So I did, 3, almost 4 months more before the side effects became too harsh. I never got any of that hair back.

I went to hair lecture given by a doctor sponsored by fin eventually he said 5% initial growth spurt and most clients are "happy to keep what they have" that's the most common stat.
