First post couple of questions: starting Propecia

Im 23, I've noticed receding on my temples since I was in high school. Although I suppose it has been slow it has gotten to the point of very noticeable. My crown seems to be fine. Ive been using rogaine for 6.5 months now twice a day and not much has changed. My dermatologist reluctantly gave me a prescription for 30 1mg fin, after having blood tests done. She told me to ease into it, not taking 1 mg everyday right away. Is that a good idea? Has anyone done that? What exactly was the amount and timing when you first started? Should I continue using the Rogaine? Also, I just recently heard of Nizoral, is that a good idea too?

    Thanks in advance

I hope I attached those pics correctly. My barber always comments on how thick my hair is, so I guess thats worth noting. How I style my hair makes my hairline not that noticeable(not how it is in the pics). But Im worried about if I ever wanted to cut my hair short and everyone freaks out like what happened to your hairline.

Yes, I believe you should not start with the 1 mg dosage right away. I would say half the dosage would be good to start with. Fin is some serious drug with its side effects. Lower dosages are better for your body to adapt.

So do you think 1 mg every other day or split the pills in half and take a half mg everyday?

Just take the full dose, if you get side effects then they usually completely dissipate in 3-5 months. Just put up with it.

I would recommend half the dosage (0.5mg). But as you can see there are different opinions on that.
