Hello Dumpy ! Welcome to this good forum. You are at the RIGHT place when needing good advice.
Please tell us what age you are.
And also, what type of hairloss (NW scale) do you have??

My experience with minoxidil for 9 months has been mixed.

I've seen a bit of regrowth in the vertex and right temple, but my left temple is still miniaturizing.

I think minoxidil alone kind of just plays tug of war with MPB. Most people dht wins the game over time.

In order to help minoxidil win I added Propecia 1.25mg a day 1 month ago.

I really think most people's MPB is a bit too much for minoxidil alone.

Hopefully my addition of propecia turns the tides in my favor.

If you're serious about treating hairloss it really seems like finasteride or dut is necessary until we have new options.

      Just my 2 cents,

      Cheers

        Hey thanks BaldingEagle
So do you feel that using minoxidil
Along with finasteride would give it a better improvement?

Yes I do. My dermatologist has told me she's had many patients who were on minoxidil start seeing new growth within 3 months of adding finasteride.

She said she thinks it makes sense that lowering dht would make a regrowth stimulant more effective.

You can ask your doctor for generic Proscar and cut it into 1/4s taking 1 per day. Most doctors are familiar with this more cost effective option.
I do this and I pay 26$ every 3 months. Cheaper than my rogaine.
