The lighting is different, seems harsher in the first pic. However I'd say there is some great improvement there bud. Keep it up.

Hi everyone - thanks for all your encouragement and advice. Since there is some interest as to how I am doing thus far, I thought I'd give you a (roughly) one month update.

I hope this is close enough to a direct comparison:

    First week of starting treatment.

Approximately one month after starting treatment.

As stated, I am using the big three. This week I also started using Folligen, but it cannot be credited for any of the results I may or may not have had thus far, since I have only used it once. In any case, my last picture was taken before I started using Folligen.

You could get some great results from fin and minox. If you fill in the mostly diffused areas then the temples could be fixed in the future with a HT. If you respond really well to treatments then you could really have a shot of a decent head of hair again.

    Hi there,

In my opinion if hair loss is affecting you then its certainly worth doing something now whilst you still can and know you tried. I have seen some remarkable responders to the big 3 so in my opinion worth a try. You will certainly need commit to it for a minimum of 8-12 months to gain a good opinion on the benefits.

Take some clear pictures and have them as a solid control to work to.

Keep us updated and best of luck whatever you decide man !

Be aware of initially shedding on hair loss treatments too. I would recommend not over doing any of the treatments especially not Nizoral ;-)

    Regards
    Spex

Honestly, I wouldn't bother in your position. Reasoning:
    - It started when you were 17 so it's aggressive and won't be halted for long
    - Your temples have receded A LOT, limiting your hairstyles. Growing it out won't look good.
    - You have diffuse thinning all over.

You're looking at a year of Minox + Fin to get decent coverage with the same hairline, and your hairline isn't that good.
I'd call it a day, buzzcut it and save yourself the time and money.

Wouldn't that just dilute the minoxidil?

I agree, Rahul. Whilst I am very keen on saving money, I will be using a normal dosage for optimal effect. Once my orders arrive I will be documenting my results on the forum.

Unfortunately, my hair loss is extensive, and I didn't really notice until it was too late because I was coincidentally sporting a shaved head anyway. As I grew older I wanted to cultivate a different look, and found that I'd lost more of my hair than I'd realized.

I did use Rogaine in the past for approximately 3 months, but stopped due to financial reasons. It was working - I could see small dark hairs sprouting from my scalp. My financial situation is slightly improved now, and I have a years supply, so I may well document my results on here.
Hope it will work for you mate. You can also save some money by splitting the Propecia pills in half and using 0.5mg per day instead of 1mg.

I want to go into an industry where a shaved head is not considered 'acceptable'.
