    Maturing Hairline or Traction Alopecia

    Hello everyone,

So lately i have noticed that my hairline comes back at the temples and I would like to get some outside opinions on it. I am unsure on whether the cause of this is a maturing hairline or Traction Alopecia (I am 17 by the way).

The reason for me believing this could be Traction Alopecia is because of the way that I used to style my hair. In the past I would use large amounts of hair products and waxes in combination with aggressive combing and blow drying to the point where I would experience a burning sensation at the roots. I have started treating my hair much better now (and have been for about 3 months).

Anyway, if anyone could tell me I would like to know if you think this is my hairline maturing or if it is Traction Alopecia. Also what you think my chances of the hair coming back without treatments are if it is the Alopecia.

P.S. I added photos of my crown with and without flash. However, I am unsure of if they will be of any use .

Traction alopecia is usually a result of pulling or twisting of the hair not styling it with gell or watever else u used. its most common in black women who wear weaves often. ur temples are starting to recede. perfectly natural as u age. TA it is not!
