    finasteride sides

I am 18 years old and starting to experience thinning at the temples. Been thinking about taking fin but I am terrified of the side effects. So have anyone of you guys used fin for a long period of time and haven't experienced the side effects. Even the mild ones? I am also considering to wait a couple of years before starting treatment. I know that it wouldn't stop my hair loss but it would at least slow it down dramatically, I don't want to use a hair system in my twenties I don't mind in my middle thirties. A hair transplant is out of the question because I'll probably progress to a norwood 6-7 like my father.

Not getting sides is the typical response....so most of us don't get them...

I will say one thing, the fear mongerers definitely accomplished their mission. I thank god it didn't work on me.

I try to help newcomers who are scared of starting with fin because of sides and I know you do too, but I'm starting to realise that it's of no use (basically like you said). They're just too stubborn and caught up in the whole "fin kills your dick and your brain" mentality. I guess I'm just going to let these threads go by in the future because commenting on it doesn't achieve anything anyway. It's their loss (literally ).

Hey there Reasonistian! Welcome to our forum!

Im glad that you came here for advice!
          First of all,
Reason' I have been on generic Finasteride for over 19 months now.
I started using Dr. Reddy's Finasteride at 1mg per day at the beginning of August 2013.
My hair has very much improved with its use but the what i want to share with you is that I have experienced NO bad side-effects from its use.
Now I DO experience a lessening of my semen but that is all that I know of.
As I understand it, my sperm count is not effected by that. Also my desires have not changed,
my wife and I are doing A-OK!

The bigger topic is this Reason'...
You MIGHT only be experiencing a 'maturing' of your hairline.
Just because your father has hair-loss, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will too.
You might LATER ON but you might NOT.

          My father's hairloss progressed to a NW7.
I have 2 brothers, me being the youngest son.
My oldest brother and I have hair-loss, our middle brother does NOT.
The middle brother's hair is relatively full. Of course his hair matured like ours did at a young age but he didn't lose what we lost. If you'd like, check out my 'Artista and Finasteride' thread that i started.

Don't focus so much on your hair so that it becomes a burden to you!
If you see a minor lessening of your hair right now, more than likely NO ONE ELSE DOES.

There are things that you can do to improve your hair if you feel the need to do so.
Others here can share those options with you.
I do not feel you need anything like Finasteride right now.
Also my friend, you are so YOUNG.
I am sure that there will be much better hair treatments available in time.
          No worries my friend!!

How old were you when you first started noticing your hair loss and how old were you when you started fin?

This. It's an uphill battle that I am close to giving up on.
