I think we're brainwashed to overlook hairsystems

When I watch a video of a decent looking hairsystem (that the average person wouldnt notice). It makes me feel like it could really be an option for me in the future.

This guy goes from looking like a joke to looking like an actual boss.

I mean if the hairsystem is sealed on tight, who do you think a chick would rather go on a date with? The first guy or the second guy? .. A guy with an obvious imperfection or a guy with a good looking hairsystem?

What exactly is the difference between genetics FORCING, ruining, taking away our appearance and adding/replacing/putting on a secure hairsystem? I mean I don't really see a major difference there, natures taking and we're replacing.

I think there is a major difference between a wig and a properly secured hairsystem. Wigs are the jokes, hairsystem is a solution.

Right now I shave my head every few days but **** dude.. I might just go get a nice hairsystem in a few years. Seriously.. forcing me to be bald? like jesus christ.

Girls hide their appearance behind makeup and when they take it off they look completely different (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYpwAtnywTk) <-- In all of her videos she has the same makeup on but that's not what she really naturally looks like.
What exactly is the difference between makeup and a hair system? Both are cosmetic but the makeup is completely unnecessary. The hairsystem is a treatment.

The only downside to the hairsystem is you have to take it off and keep it up (but some guys keep it on for weeks. Not really any different than girls putting on makeup everyday). I don't see why anyone should look down on it. I know it sucks to not have natural hair but again.. I don't see a difference in being forced to be bald and using a natural looking hairsystem.

It's just the male version of makeup, thats all it really is.

I too wish hair system was more acceptable for men. It's sad.

To some degree, the title of the thread has some truth to it.

The media, and most people I guess (the uninformed), have some view of the 70's or 80's style wig (or they may even be thinking of the 50's style wig). It's a sort of old and sometimes rubbishy humour, about obvious and really bad fitting or colours of 50's or 80's wigs.

But you can look at this as an advantage. I'm sure the uninformed people don't know that anything else exists.
They won't expect it, and as you say, they probably won't even look for it.

The video you posted is a good example, his hair system looks fine and normal. It's like his own hair.
And if anyone did know it was fake, there's nothing really funny about it, because it just looks normal. It's kind of impressive.
The humour is only there when it is drastically wrong, or slides off with a gust of wind - which none of them do these days lol

I think you should give it a try sometime.
It might take a couple of trys to get it right for you.
The only tricky thing is learning the maintenance. But it is probably less time consuming than using concealer everyday.

And if you spend more than half an hour a day, fixing your thinning hair with hairspray or gel or something - well it's going to be less time consuming than that too.

So you could look on the positive side of the 50's/80's wig jokes - nobody is going to know or expect the undetectable hair system.

In another thread, the member "HairIsLife" rightly pointed out that Men oppose any cure for baldness, because in that way they would lose that advantage. So it could be that men with hair also try their best to make hair systems unacceptable to the society. Otherwise, I don't see anything wrong in it. I would have experimented with one, if I didn't have a wife.

Chicks wear wigs and hair extensions and it's completely acceptable. Two girls were talking about it today in class! What's wrong with a hair system? If I wore one and someone asked me about it I would probably say "yeah I started to lose my hair when I was a kid and I look terrible without hair, if you can think of a better solution, let me know". Ive said this before, but it's not the fact of balding that bothers me, it's the fact that I look like crap without hair. Well known celebrities wore toupees and it was common knowledge for a long time but nobody ever brought it up. Like John Wayne, dude had a toupee and he made jokes about it! Most people don't even know that he was bald.

For somebody like you, a person that is unable to move on from his hair loss problem, a hair system is a good solution.

I went to a specialist clinic in UK before I went on treatments with success,
Let me tell you if done right they look so real, I saw one guy in their office fitting one.

you know what I think? I think if you had a guy that couldnt stand the sight of his hairloss or the way it made him look (compared to when he had hair), and you had him try a hair system for 2 weeks. I bet you when those 2 weeks were up and he had the choice to go out and continue with the balding look or continue with the natural hairsystem look (that no one probably detected in those 2 weeks) I bet you he would choose to continue wearing the hair system.

I shave my head with a razor and.. this just isn't right. I don't like the way it feels everytime I shave my head and rest my head on a pillow. I don't like when the stubble starts growing and it's just a ****ed up feeling because I want hair, I don't want to be bald.

I'm just so sick of it. Bald isn't negative but balding is. Even if you shave your head you can still see the shadow of the hairloss and it's just a bad look.

I'm in a position where looks mean something and is important.

What do you do when you hear the person you want to be with say " I need to be attracted to the person to be in a relationship with them "?

Yeah what the **** do you do then?

It's comments like that one that remind me that most of us won't ever be able to recover from this disease. The worst part about it is that people just don't understand that we don't want to sport the bald look either, they may find it repulsing but so do we. That's the shittiest feeling about all this, having no control over what you look like. It's like being forced to wear clothes that don't suit you for the rest of your life. You're the type of guy that wears suits everyday but along came some disease that forced you to wear basketball clothes everyday instead. How the f*ck can you feel great about yourself when you feel like you're trapped in someone else's body ? Some days I just want to scream "This isn't me." F*ck I HATE this embarrassing disease, what a useless defect. Life would have been SO much more simpler if hair loss never existed. Wake up in the morning, style your hair how YOU want to and leave for work, the end. Guys with full heads of hair have no f*cking idea what it's like. For their sake, I hope they never have to find out.

I dont know what to say.. So far i've erased 2 responses. I'll just say, I feel like balding labels me as the loser. No matter what I accomplish in life I feel as if someone could bring me down just by saying "I don't care, you're bald and ugly".

I just want to be on an equal playing field as everyone else. I don't want the reason for someone turning me down to be something that I have no control over. Isn't that just so sick. You can't even ****ing blame them for being that way either can you? Most men don't like overweight women, it's not attractive. At the same time it's not a big deal, weight is something most people can control so if a women is turned down because of her weight she always has the choice.

I want someone to turn me down because of something that I'm in control over. Something that they disagree with or is my f***ing fault. Holy shit man. This is just so ****ing sick.

That is what happens, when you care too much about what other people say about you. Live your life for yourself, not to impress others.
