Is this definite thinning?

I'm 35, hair is a bit longer than an inch. Does this look like definite balding? I have never taken and finastride or minoxidil. Is it possible for someone to just thin a little and stop? My grandpa was in his 60's when he passed, he had really thin hair, but wasn't bald.
