You can also try minoxodil, although I've never used it and it seems like way too much of a commitment for the potential results.

There isn't really anything else outside of a hair transplant that works.

    The HH-550 supplement you mentioned:

It's just some B-vitamins, Biotin, Saw Palmetto (supposed to lower DHT), and few other things. Unless you have a deficiency these supplements really won't do a whole lot. Spend that $30 on something else.

You can put more effort into your scalp/hair care as well"

    -Shampoo without sodium lauryl sulfate
    -Quality conditioner
-Deep conditioning treatment every once and a while (coconut oil, etc.)
-Hair vitamin complex (If you wish. I would just take a multi, fish oil, and follow a healthy diet)

Also, from my ancedotal experience I've never had sides from finasteride, nor have I met anyone in real life who takes it that has had sides.

Duke University 7-year longitudinal study on finasteride:

    http://jnci.oxfordjournals.org/content/99/13/1025.full

We assessed sexual dysfunction in 17313 PCPT participants during a 7-year period. A battery of questionnaires assessed sexual dysfunction (Sexual Activity Scale score); age; race; SF-36 Mental Health Inventory-5, Physical Function, and Vitality scores; body mass index; smoking status; and the presence of diabetes and hypertension.

Conclusions: The effect of finasteride on sexual functioning is minimal for most men and should not impact the decision to prescribe or take finasteride.
Thank you for all of the great information. I actually have a few more questions regarding Finasteride, for you or anyone else who would like to comment.

First off, I have heard people not only saying it stops/slows hair loss dramatically, but can even result in hair restoration (especially at a young age) is this true? Is it likely for my hair to get back to its normal thickness? Or should I just expect it to slow my loss?

Secondly, people say the effects of Finasteride last only as long as you are taking it. So, say I start taking it now, but 5 years down the line I stop (lets say I still have the EXACT same hair line as now) will I revert to what I WAS or will I revert to what I WOULD have been if I hadn't ever started on the medication?

Hopefully these questions make sense and someone can provide me with some answers. Thank you!

Oh and one more thing. After viewing my pictures I posted, should Finasteride be enough? Or should I use Minoxidil as well?

            Hmmm!

Idk if you will look good or not, but your hair is cool I would try to keep it.

            I'll try to be short.

If you want use finasteride but be wary of side effects that happen to a percentage of users. (How small or big noone can really say) Some side effects might continue after discontinuation.

Minoxidil 2x a day 1 the morning and 1 at night can be a godsend if you're constant and make sure to do it every day. If you stop using it you lose all you gained/mantained and your hair goes back slowly to where you would be if you had never started. Careful with that. If you have money issues consider Kirkland, it's cheap and good. Personally I preffer Lipogaine.

Consider shampooing with a shampoo with ketoconazole every other day or every 3 days. I use Regenpure Dr. but Nizoral is also good. Just check that it has that ingredient. Leave it on for 5 minutes as you shower then rinse off.

            Best of luck!!

I just turned 20 in April, and to my detriment, convinced myself I am balding. I have not yet seen a dermatologist, but I am almost certain that genetics has decided to take its toll. I have a few questions and I would really appreciate it if you took the time to respond.

              1) The first question is in the title, will I look good if I shave my head?
              2) Does it look to you as if I am experiencing male pattern baldness?
              3) Has anyone heard of the hair supplement HH-550 by WholeBodyResearch? If so, does it work?

Thank you for taking the time to read/reply to my thread. I have always been a victim of severely low self confidence and am now struggling more than ever with my newfound problem. Also, PLEASE do not be afraid you will hurt my feelings, I want to know the TRUTH.

P.S.- I am currently trying to figure out how to add more attachments from my tablet.
Bro, to be honest, you're a good looking guy, you got a good handsome face. You can definatley pull off the close cropped look. Hit the gym bro, and women will be all over you bro!
