Having second thoughts about using Minoxidil.

So I've been using Minoxidil for about 4 months (once a day). I've recently discovered that this has been the primary cause of my scalp itch, cause the itch only really started up when I first began using it, and recently I've stopped using it for a couple of days, and the itch is almost completely gone.

I don't think I've had any benefits from it (no visual improvement anyway)

I've also been on fin for a few months, and it seems as though its just started to kick in. I'd like to see what the full results from this are, then re-evaluate using Minoxidil.

Is it likely that I'm going to experience a shed coming off Minoxidil?

I've been using Kirkland foam btw.

You don't know what it's actually doing, don't stop it, or you could be up for a painful surprise.

I have been using castor oil and olive oil mixed on my scalp every couple days, seems to keep the itching and dryness down a bit, I also added some vitamin e and b12 oils to it. I don't use minox 2x a day though just 1x or every other so that may be why it helps more also

Keep in mind that the stabilization of the hair loss is the main purpose of the Finasteride.

I also have the damn itch. It sucks. The flakes are also annoying as hell, but I am pretty good at controlling them. I have also recently thought about giving up minox, the problem is I am at the 6 month mark and I think I am actually seeing some regrowth. I can't stop now and will deal with the itch for as long as I can.

Thought about using the minoxidil w/azelaic acid but it seems like a pain in the ass to have to put in on your hair every day and essentially for the rest of your life. Not to mention the cost. It also kind of freaked me out hearing about its (alleged, not sure if true or how common it is) effects on collagen and that it can cause dark circles and wrinkles. To be fair, I heard similar things about finasteride (everything from erectile dysfunction to not being able to build muscle) and I haven't had any problems in those areas or any side effects in general. Not saying side effects don't happen, I just think the minority that get them are very loud and vocal. I don't blame them for their frustration. I'd be pissed off too.

Are you using foam or liquid? What brand?

Know what you mean man, before I ordered it I didn't think it would bother me having to put it on my head every day. Even at once I day it's too much hassle, especially considering my hair is fairly long.

I'm just hoping that 4 months isn't enough time for my hair to have become dependent on it.

Have any of you tried eclipta alba oil to stop the dryness and itching.
That was the only thing that worked for me eventhough I still had a few flakes I no longer had the itching.
As for the face effects I'm using retin a cream which is a collagen booster so I'm gonna start on minox again now that I have a good routine for the side effects.
