    hi,

I take proscar and I am going to be getting a hair transplant done soon, am I supposed to keep using throughout and after the procedure?

    thanks

If taking Proscar(Finasteride) already then it would be recommended to continue to take it in my opinion to help against the miniaturising process of native hair. Any benefits from taking it will be lost if you discontinue it.

The more hair you can keep on top as a result of finasteride - the fewer HT's / procedures you will need. Speak to your surgeon/doc about it based on your own situation.

finasteride will strengthen your hair and help against shockloss which can be experienced as a result of the trauma of the surgery.

I agree that if you are having no negative side effects you should consider staying on medication. If you stop you may loose any progress you have made.
