Finasteride for young men with high DHT

Hey brothers, came across an interesting study with some important information regarding finasteride. Some of the info is highlighted below, and the link is posted at the bottom.

''In conclusion, we would like to highlight in this study that patients aged less than 26 years with high levels of 5a-DHT at the beginning of the treatment had an excellent response to treatment. In consequence, high levels of 5a-DHT in patients less than 26 years old are a predictive factor of good response to treatment with finasteride 1 mg daily.''

Many assumptions could be made as to why this is the case, and intuitively it does make a lot of sense, but just think of it more as an added piece of information to help you make a decision if you are unsure of what to do.

Good shit dawg. You remember your pre-fin DHT levels by any chance?

Study said in 6 months improvement was noticed. Also within the subgroup of men less than 26, the higher the DHT, the better the response.

No. can't find the paperwork. But if I need to know them, the doc should have them. I just remember it being normal to normal-high or something.

True. It would be interesting to see your levels before and then your levels on. 1mg inhibits 50-70% so if your DHT is high, and fin only reduced by 50%, your DHT could still be well above the lower end of the healthy range.
