    Best/Most effective way to take Finasteride

    Hey guys,
    I have recently started taking Proscar. I would just like to know what is the best and most effective way to take it? The tablet is a 5mg tablet but i split it up into quarters and I take 1/4 a day. What time of the day is the best time to take it? How effective is the small 1/4 piece of the tablet? Should i take it after a meal or does that even matter since the 1/4 piece is so small?

      Just take around the same time each day. I wouldn't be concerned with the size of the pill; pills have fluff anyways. Think about how much a gram of powder is.

      For me, taking it as I'm getting ready sets habit so I never forget - haven't missed a dose since I started.

          Yea, just take it when it is most convenient for you. I take mine on an empty stomach each morning and have never had a problem.

              You don't need 1.25 mg of finasteride. You will be increasing your chances of side effects. I recommend .50 mg since it almost as effective as 1.25mg. It doesn't matter when you take it. It has a half life of serum dht for 4 days so it doesn't need to taken by schedule. DHT is a potent androgen is much needed for many functions in the body. If you start noticing sides start lowering dosage or start taking every other day instead of daily.

                  No, ignore him. You should take the 1.25mg. If you want, you can shave it down to 1mg. But 1.25mg is perfectly fine.

                      The recommended dosage is 1mg. If 1mg (fifths) is too inconvenient, I'm going to go with 1.25mg all day.

                          each person respond differently to the dosage. some ppl have reported better results with 1.25 mg and others have report sides with the increase.

                          give it try and see what works for you.
