I feel that it only makes sense to taper onto drugs, especially ones like propecia as it gives your body a better chance to adjust to the changes being made. But what do you guys think??

Seems theoretically sound but I've never seen any literature on it. If it gives you peace of mind, I say that is sufficient to make it "worth it".

My issue with fin and dut was, by the time I got my rx filled and was ready to start, I did not want to spend another day NOT taking the full dose (in both cases)

If the tapering process would cost me five hairs, that is 5 too m.any

Yeah, I think it is biologically worthless since even small doses of fin have a similar effect to large doses. But, how many times have we seen cases where people suffer from imaginary side effects? Breaking, since you have been struggling with your fear of fin as long as I can remember, maybe it is in your best interest to start small as you ease your way into it psychologically.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.

Maybe a little, but I mean your going to be using the stuff for years so whatever was going to happen is going to whether you taper on or not. I dont use it because I just honestly dont trust taking any drug for non critical health issue just not worth potential problems to me.
