I will list the mental sides which I suffered from so people know what to look out for.

Brain Fog (ability to think clearly, feeling just woken up all of the time).
    Poor short term memory.
    Fatigue and loss of motivation.
Loss of feelings and emotion (Anhodenia).
    Slurring words.

Also, like I said before, these symptoms crept up on me so slowly, I had forgotten what I felt like before I started. And there is no way I imagined them because I was not aware of them until 2012, I started in 2007.

      Muscle twitching.

Whilst taking Finasteride I experienced incessant muscle twitching, imagine a fly trapped under your skin trying to get out. I could physically see it moving.

Now maybe muscle twitching is a physical symptom but there is a theory that it is linked to a chemical imbalance of the Brain.

I am still suffering from them now (10 months off) but they are nowhere near as bad.

Why bother man? The guy is NW6 and pissed off that Fin can help others. He wants to drag everyone else down.

Dont let the clown drag you down. Hes going to lie and spin the negative and do whatever he has to because he can hide behind the internet. Ignore him

I'm actually genuinely interested. The sides he's claiming are totally new to me, so it'd be interesting to learn a bit more -- not trying to be smarmy either.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear.

What I meant was I didn't know that Finasteride could cause those symptoms until 2012. So how could I imagine side effects I was not aware of. I only thought it could cause sexual side effects and gyno. Which I never suffered from.

I believe the majority of guys who take it aren't aware of the mental sides, you have just admitted that my symptoms were new to you.

That's right Tbone, just stick your head back in the sand and the mental sides won't exist. I know it's either there or up your ass.

And really you are lawyer? Bro, I would rather have Homer Simpson defending me...Doh!

Finasteride may cause a decrease in PSA levels in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia as well as in patients with prostate cancer. In one study, mean PSA reductions of 50% were noted, regardless of baseline levels. There was no indication that PSA levels were further suppressed in patients with prostate cancer.

PSA levels are commonly used in the screening process for prostate cancer. Patients who develop sustained increases in PSA while on finasteride therapy should be carefully evaluated for medical causes as well as noncompliance.

long term use and brain fog

I've been on 5mg of this stuff for years. there's a lot of baldness in my family tree and my white mane is thinning in the past year. it's a little hard to define brain fog personally because I have Parkinson's which can be foggy all by itself. I had PD before starting finasteride. after reading about smaller doses being effective I asked my neurologist about cutting back and he said not to (what's your opinion?). but speaking to this thread specifically I haven't experienced any brain fog. My PD is progressing slowly but what's the chance that this drug is affecting my PD? If I stopped to see if there are any mental/physical changes would my hair start regrowing if I went back on it? Sorry, too many questions.
