    My hairloss story

Hi my name is Lewis and after getting advice from this and similar forums I started using Minoxidil on the 8th September 2012 and shortly after began with Nizoral shampoo as well.

On towards the end of November I started to take photos of my progress which is as follows:-

Please excuse the dandruff in the photos the Minoxidil caused this as caught me off guard as I did not realise that it was a common side effect.

The results so far seem good. Does anyone know how long I can expect it to last before the effectiveness starts to wear off?

Also I've been using Nizoral 3 or more times a week is this too much? Do I need to cut down on it?

I generally recommend Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times per week at most. There is no data that supports more is better. Hope everything works out well for you.

Congrats. Looks like you're getting a good response from the mix/niz combo. I will say your hair looks wet in the first picture and dry in the second; hair tends to look more full when dry. Still, beyond that it looks like an improvement so, again, congrats.

Your right I think the difference is just because my hair was wet with minoxidil the 1st time I took a photo. I'm embarrassed now what a silly mistake to make. I don't think I've had any improvement at all thats a downer just when I thought it was shown to work

I was using it as much as possible to defeat dandruff but if its bad for me to use it more than 3 times a week I will cut down.

You can use it a little more often until the scalp condition has cleared and then you can back off a bit.
