    20, diffuse thinning, itching

I'm 20. There is no hair loss in my family tree.

For the past two months, my scalp has itched and my hair has thinned diffusely, even on the sides.

There is no pattern. I'm not finding hairs anywhere. Though in this entire time, I have found a couple hairs with white bulbs.

The left is my wet hair a month ago. The right is my wet hair now.

Is this DUPA? I had a very stressful few weeks 3-4 months ago, so I'm hoping this might be TE or something temporary.

I went to a couple doctors and got blood work, which was fine.

    Thank you so much.

Pictures aren't same angle with same light (from what i can see) so it's difficult to stay. Regardless, I trust your opinion that your hair has thinned. Similar to you, my thinning has occurred in the last 4 months or so. I went and saw a GP who did my blood work last month (which was fine), and he just gave me 2% keto shampoo and sent me on my way.

Can't really say if it's TE or something else on-line (at least not with confidence.) I would set up a derm appointment if it's really bother you. Mine is in a week. Dropped off my blood work results and copy of my keto prescription ahead of time to make the appointment go smoothly. It'll be worth it for peace of mind.

Let us know what you decide to do. And I'll be updating my intro thread with what happened to me, which might be helpful for you.

    Regards

I appreciate it! I'm glad you reminded me, I was given 2% ketocanazole as well. It hasn't worked at all. I'll update you as well.

Yeah, the 2 times a week was too much for me. My scalp was so uncomfortable, itchy, and flakey afterwards.. even with a high quality conditioner. I'm down to once a week and will ONLY use it at night, so I can use a good moisturizing shampoo the next day before I head out into the world. I would suggest the same, try to get sulfate free.

My hairloss has been heading in the right direction the last ~week, but would be premature attribute it to the keto. Hopefully the derm will resolve that.

I'm glad to here things are going better. My doctor actually told me to use the 2% every day, so I know what you mean.

Still waiting for a derm. appointment. My hair has gotten incredibly thin though I definitely have not been finding shed hairs.

Just a couple more questions to anyone who would know. How much hair loss can stress cause? And does itchiness imply that it is or is not from stress?

            thanks

Hair loss from stress is not going to be in any kind of pattern and yes, diffuse thinning still presents as the horseshoe pattern

My derm appt is tomorrow! I will be sharing my results. As for the whole stress thing, if telling yourself it's due to stress and you should not worry will help you function in daily life, do that. But for sure go see the derm and get some real resolution. I lost about 1.5 months telling myself it was going to stop, now it's in Nov and i've been shedding since May/Junes. Wish I woulda got in earlier.

really? NO ONE had any hair loss? That's rare for any white family
