Spiro is used to treat female hair loss and it is also a component in cross-sex HRT for male-to-female transsexuals. Spiro is much more likely than Finasteride to cause negative sexual side effects in males. If I were a male, there is no way I would even think about touching Spiro in any form.
holy cow.... I mean this stuff works but It's not worth turning into a female. So, spiro will give me breast and what else? shrink my penis?? I heard it was possible with certain meds but not with this.

Most males cannot regrow lost temple hair. This is because most males are genetically programmed to loose their temple hair and develop an adult mature male hair line. This is especially true of caucasion males. When a male uses this medication on his hair line, he can accelerate that natural and normal process. Some males can regrow some of the hair in their temples and hair line, but most males cannot. This does not apply to most females BTW, because most females do not develop an adult mature male hair line. A female can use Rogaine anywhere on her scalp, because the medicine is equally effective anywhere on her scalp. For males, this medicine is most effective in the vertex and mid-anterior.

This is kinda, sorta almost correct. When talking about temple hair in males, it is not an extreme case but instead the norm. You will read over and over again from one young male or another that "Rogaine destroyed my hair line". Well, that is not true. Rogaine did not destroy his hair line, genetics destroyed his hair line. Using Rogaine on his hair line simply sped up the process of developing his natural and normal adult mature male hair line. Basically, he sped up a process he was already going through. It really is just that simple.

      Tracy,
Can you help to explain in a little more detail when you refer to 'accelerating the natural process'. Given that Rogaine is supposed to net grow hair (or at least leave it net neutral) how can it result in a net reduction for some male users? I thought that 'The Shed' resulted from the hair folicle losing the old hair in order to produce a new (thicker and more healthy) hair (although the new hair being produced may not be instant hence a net reduction in hair on a temp basis). Since a lot of us are genetically going to end up with little hair at, say, 60 I would prefer not to accelerate this at all and instead keep what I have for as long as I can !

Any insight would would be greatly appreciated - thanks a lot

Stop self-medicating and go see a doctor. Stay away from "advice" from forum members on what meds to use. Talk to a doctor.

Maybe if you could explain why or how you didn't understand the first time, I could find a better way to explain it. But I will try again...

It is completely natural and normal for most males to loose temple hair and develop a natural and normal adult mature male hair line. This is a completely separate process from MPB and is a natural and normal part of becoming an adult male. The adult mature male hair line is a secondary male sex characteristic like a deeper voice, bigger hands, bigger feet, stronger muscles and so on. This does not apply to most females, though unfortunately some females do develop it. For females it is abnormal. For males it is completely normal. Especially for caucasion males.

The proven FDA approved medications currently available for treating hereditary hair loss usually cannot do anything to stop or prevent the natural and normal development of the natural and normal adult mature male hair line. Usually these hairs in the temples are going to go no matter what you do, because you are male. When you attempt to prevent it, you can induce a shed in that area that is not likely to recover, because that area is genetically programmed to shed hair anyways. The net result is you can accelerate the process and make it happen sooner than it would have if you had let nature take it's course.

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to explain it. The first and most important part though is to realize that the loss of temple hair is a natural and normal male secondary sex characteristic. Some guys simply refuse to accept that reality and hide from it, no matter how true it is. However once you wake up to reality and realize that it is true, the rest makes sense.

Thanks Tracy - so just to confirm when you are talking about accelerating the process you are only referring to temple hair, not the rest?

I guess it's a call that was meant for me not to even think bout fin. Thanks for any posts. What 5% spiro by the way? Also was thinking bout RU but not yet. If anybody know please let me know how to get premixed RU and how to use it. Thanks again
