    early results

    Thought id share some results.

I started propecia around mid May or so (between 15th and 20th)

The first two pics are from 6-3-2012 when I was at the height of my shed/loss. The next two pics are from today.

I started with a 30 pill (30 days) supply of propecia, and was taking 1MG pill per day. After shedding tons and having slight sexual sides, I went to 1/2 pill a day or less. I just refilled another 30 pill supply today, but have 1 last pill to chop up from my last batch.

Typically I will take either 1/2 a day, sometimes a 1/3rd, and some days even just 1/4th.. It just depends on how I cut the pill with my steak knife lol. I guess that doesn't help much as far as figuring out a perfect dose, but since I decided to reduce my dose, I have never taken more than 1/2 a pill, and I have never taken less than a 1/4th.

I also use rogaine foam before bed at night. Sometimes twice a day if I get a chance to go home on lunch or if I know I'm doing something that night.. Also Nizoral EOD and also biotin daily and a multivitamin.

The hair is roughly the same length in each photo, might have been slightly longer in the first two, but obviously I think there has been a pretty good improvement so far and hopefully I will continue to see more results. Click image for larger version

Honestly its too early to judge the effectiveness of medication, theres been a slight improvement and you'll have to give it some more time, however its definitely a case of diffuse thinning which I suffer from, only its very advanced and aggressive in my case. I would suggest you talk to your doctor and get a prescription of minoxidil too as it would help with regrowth and thickening of thinned out hairs. All the best with your treatment mate.

Nizoral EOD is too often! for the 1% twice a week for the 2% once a week!

Over use can cause scalp irritation and shedding

Quick update. Been about 4+ months. I don't really ever notice shedding and have to comb through my hair several times and in a semi rough manner to make hair shed. Taking .4 to .5 of a 1MG propecia pill per day since the time outlined above. Still using the rogaine about once a day on, occasionally twice a day. Biotin 5000 mcg once a day and daily vitamin. Meds are definitely working. The other day, my barber commented that my hair looks a lot thicker and what have I been doing to it. I think all the hair in general is now thicker and healthier.

oh yeah, and the sexual sides everybody talks about. I don't really notice anything. Have a new gf (who has like the greatest head of hair ever lol) and we have sex at least 2-3 times a day everyday for the past couple of months. So far, so good.

Thought I'd update my results since I haven't since September.. My hair doesn't really shed very often, when it does I've noticed that it last for a couple of days then goes away.

But overall, my hair seems to have thickened up quite a bit. Even my barber says something to me everytime I get a cut. I've been using only .5 of a 1mg propecia pill each day, 1 biotin pill, and rogaine 1-2 times per day. Nizoral like every other day, and I've also been conditioning my hair/scalp like twice a week so my head doesn't get dry.

Everything seems to be working. My hair is much fuller, I never think about it really at all anymore and I've accepted that if I go bald I go bald, but damnit I'm going to try not to go bald.

NOTE: First pic is from way back last year less than 1 week after starting treatment.

Nice results bro. Your hair has thickened up a lot. Imagine how much worse it would have been getting if you didn't start fin.

                Keep us updated

Thanks guys. Just updating so others can see that it works. There's always the initial post -- then never any follow ups.

On a different note I have switched to the Dr Reddy 1mg pills as of Satuday March 30th. Taking half a day. I really hope I'm not going to regret this. I called to fill my Rx and the pharmacist just put me on generic w/o asking.. they just told me when I was paying because I was like hmm why is it only 70 this time?

Great. Now I'm going to be freaked out for the next 60 days. FML.

After about 2-3 days of the generic I just decided it wasn't worth it and went and bought a bottle of name brand stuff.

Still working. Hair still getting thicker. Can actually grow it to longer lengths now.

Good to hear that treatment is still working. What about a relationship update? Are you still hitting it 2 - 3 times a day LOL.?
