    Can hair be thickened?

I'm a newbie hoping to get some answer on this forum.

I'm 53 and I have curly hair. About 6 months ago I noticed that my hair was thinning, my front hair line was receding and sometimes (depending on how my hair behaved) I could see my scalp thru the curls.

I've made an appointment with a dermatologist and have started my due diligence to solve this problem. For me, baldness is not an option.

It is apparent that there is no easy solution and that the bulk of the hair industry is a scam. So I will take my time before I leap into anything. In the meantime while I do my research can someone suggest a cream/gel/shampoo that will thicken my existing hair?

    Thanks in Advance.

    rusdan,

Indeed - take you time and my advice is however get proactive as MPB needs to be taken control of fast and there are appropriate treatments that help many.

Initially if you want to visually thicken your hair up you can try Toppik or Nanogen fibres.

      Hello,

There are many thickening shampoos and conditioners on the market. I would suggest trying a bunch to find the one that works best for you. Just buy the smallest bottles available until you figure it out. Personally I have liked Progaine shampoo and Aveeno Nourish+ Volumize shampoo and conditioner. I tend to like Aveeno products better.

Hair fibers do help a lot. I have used Toppik and liked that a lot. I now use Hairmax hair fibers and I like those better because they work just as well as Toppik but costs a lot less.

      Take care,

      Tracy

none of those products will actually thicken your hair, they can only make it APPEAR thicker.... Why hasn't anyone suggested Big 3?

yeah? He said that the current treatments are probably useless and I'm saying that actually some of them work pretty good.

                    Which is actually 110% true.

He was asking about thickening hair with shampoo, conditioner and what not while he is waiting to see the dermatologist.
