i am 25 year old and suffering from hair loss past 5 years. i am trying propecia and minioxidil 10% from 2 months.before this i tried homeopathy treatment and ayurvedic treatment. but not successful.
i used laser comb but not satisfied.now propecia and minioxidil is not satisfactory hair loss rate is almost same.
should i go for hair transplant now?
will it be successful?
please mention if there is any problem after hair transplant?

you can't expect any results in the first 2 months... try a year or two. Stick with propecia and minoxidil and wait

Were obvs all in the same situation. But imo im never gonna go down the path of rogaine or propecia.

Too expensive for little result.

Just go book yourself a consultation and they say you're good to go, go for it.

HT are the best option, provided you get the right surgeon, to get your hair back.

You have not used any of those treatments long enough yet to know if you will benefit from them. It takes a minimum of a full year, sometimes two years.

You are likely to gain the best result possible from hair transplant surgery if you treat the problem for a minimum of one full year prior to committing to surgery. Then continue the treatment after surgery to maintain the non-DHT resistant hair. So it is best to stick with Finasteride and Minoxidil for the full year. Continuing to use your laser comb may help as well.

No one can possibly predict that. However, with a talented surgeon it is usually successful.

Your chosen surgeon will go over the possible problem before you commit to surgery.

You may want to consult with a hair restoration physician. They will be able to explain all the pros and cons of hair transplantation as well as the dirrerent types of procedures that are available. At the very least they shpould be able to take good photographs so you can keep track of the hair loss or stabalization with the current treatments you are using.

It is very important to understand exactly the purpose of hair loss medications .They are not intend to regrow hairs in first place but to slow down or stabilize the pace of your hair loss process. If your hair loss doesn’t get worst, you notice decreased hair shedding, then something is going on and as mentioned above, don’t expect results after 2 months .You need a full year of commitment and consistency in following your treatment.
Hair transplant is the best solution but most of the time it needs to be coupled with medical therapy for a long term success .Check this out with a dermatologist or a hair specialist.

I can understand not being satisfied by the results from taking homeopathic supplements, but you're taking proven treatments now and they do require that you take them for longer before assessing your response.

It might be best to see how well you respond to those treatments, but it wouldn't hurt to begin exploring your options in regard to surgery. You may or may not be a good candidate, depending on the extent of your hairloss and how quickly it's progressing.

I don't know what you mean by too expensive. I use generic proscar quartered. I get 30 pills for $9, so that’s 4 months of finasteride (same as propecia). Plus I buy Kirkland’s generic minoxidil and I think it costs like $60 for a whole years supply.

So if you do the math that is $87 for an entire years supply of finasteride and minoxidil! That works out to about .24 cents a day, far from expensive.

Also I think it's a little irresponsible to tell a 25 year old to get a hair transplant without being on any preventative medication to stop or slow down his hair loss. What happens when he has a transplant and then a few years down the road loses more of his native hair?

Listen to matt and Dr. Charles and go see a REPUTABLE surgeon. Both of them are very knowledgeable and well respected. I'm sure if you got in contact with either of them they could suggest a doctor if you aren't in either of their areas.

Many keep posting that proscar and minoxolid are very expensive. Seriously most people easily spend 87 USD on a pair of jeans several times a year, and this has less impact on your looks.

I am also on both proscar and minoxolid and pay once a year in Europe something similar in EUR like 80 or so, and its peanuts compared to my clothing budget per year...

Anyway to the original poster, keep using the two as they will most likely help you. I saw an impact after 1-2 months, but many only experience a stop in hairloss after 4-8 months. No way you should look into HT before you know that you can halt your hair loss.

my hair line has gone very behind already so it looks odd and i think minioxidil/propecia can't increase it only it can retain it, isn't it?
so i cant wait for so long as i have go to for marriage.

Now please suggest is it good or not?

well if you're balding THAT FAST, then how would a hair transplant help?? You will continue going bald and you will need to get more transplants to catch up

You can increase the amount of hair you have with your regimen of finasteride and minoxidil, but maybe not as much as you want. I agree with others here that your best option is to wait at least a year to see how well your medication is working before a transplant (preferably 18-24 months).
If you're getting married soon and want fast results, you should know that it can take many months after a transplant before your grafts grow in. I think it may take 10-14 months to fully assess the results of the procedure (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). So either way, you're in for a waiting period.
