    Where exactly are the temples?

Yeah, I've been wondering this for a while. I know the region the temples are in, but I'm not sure where exactly to look to see if I have thinning temples or not.

Everyone says the first signs of balding are thinning temples in most cases, but where are they? At first, I thought they were the corners of the hairline, but then I found out I was mistaken. Maybe someone get show me on a picture or something?

Someone asked this same question somewhere else recently. I'm guessing it wasn't you.

    This photo should show you.

Recession will normally start at around where the arrow marked "temples" is pointing. The 'temple points' can also recede.

Often patients have as much temporal recession as lateral hairline recession and do not even realize it. Restoring this area when indicated can really make the hairline look more natural. In cases where it is needed but not done the hairline can often look unusual and actually draw attention to that area. Which it what most patients are looking to avoid.
