I'd say you were a Norwood 2. You still have great density overall. You include crown shots, so in case that area concerns you I'll add that you're looking fine there too.

      Is this really NW2?
For me it looks like a normal mature hairline.
      I would say its NW1

I think a mature hairline would often fall into the NW2 category. I was basing that mostly on the first photo which is the closest and clearest. It would be easier to tell if there was a photo taken more from above with the hair held back so we can see the shape of the hairline.

He obviously still has a lot of hair at the front which achieves a full, non-balding look.

Here's a pic of the top of the hairline. Any new thoughts?

Some might call that a NW2, some might say that you aren't there yet. It's open to some interpretation. You do have great hair with minimal loss. Have you noticed any chance over a short space of time? How old are you?

It's been like this for awhile. I'm 27. Is that good or bad?

I'd start 5% minox on the hairline.

Not sure i'd recommend that - i've been on it around four months, applying once daily to my hairline and it's knocking it right out.

Kinda wish i hadnt started using it now, but i'll persvere.

Minoxidil/Rogaine knocking down your hair permanently is very rare. It regrows hair, with initial sheds on the way.

Your hair loss could just be that aggressive, and you believe it's the minoxidil. It's just your genes. I bet you without minoxidil, you woulda been even worse.

I hear what you're saying, but i'm one lucky ****, my hair has been slowly slowly thinning since the age of around 28 - i'm 42 now, and the loss i'm experiencing since starting Minox has shocked me.

Anyway, hopefully it'll kick in soon and cheer me up.

You're still young and could continue to lose hair (as I'm sure you know) but it's obvious you aren't losing hair rapidly so I would be very optimistic in your position.
