My first Doctor's appointment

Hello everyone, I went to my doctor' appointment today, he's a hair transplant surgeon, and when I got to his office a girl gave me some papers to fill out, I guess they just wanted to check my health history and what I wanted to do whether it was a hair transplant or take Propecia. I left a comment saying that I wanted to try Propecia instead because I just turned 23 this past Sunday so I'm still too young to get a hair transplant or at least that's what I think, I could be wrong .
So I after I filled out some papers a guy came asked me to go into a room where he took some pictures of my hair and he said that I could be a candidate for hair transplant but he also said that I needed to talk to my doctor who I did not even see today to get further advice from him. Does this happen to everyone? do they only take pictures of you and then tell you that they're going to call you in a day or two? because that's what the guy did. I was really disappointed because I thought I was going to get a Propecia prescription, I live like an hour away so yeah...

I have never heard of this approach. When I went for my consultation, they evaluated my situation and gave me my options. I chose to try the drug route (finasteride). He gave me a prescription the same day. I should mention they had similar paperwork asking for past medical history and my use of hairloss meds. However they did not take pictures which can be good and bad i guess. This doctor sounds very cautious which may be a good for you.

thanks for answering moses0324 maybe your're right, he's a very respected surgeon here where I live but I'm going to wait to see what he says about my condition based on those pictures they took, I have another question, I know it's a roulette when you take Finasteride and so I was wondering if it caused any side effects on you and for how long have you been taking it?

no side effects to report. i have been taking it for a year.

Wow you really got good results, congratulations. I feel way more confident now, you just gave me the boost I needed to take the medicine. I will update too like you did
