Recently I made a post about my receding hairline. I'm 22 and noticed uneven temple recession along with frontal hair recession. I ALSO noticed that the outer 3rd of my eyebrows are thinning too. I use to have much thicker eyebrows. I feel like I am not quite 2 on the Norwood scale but I have a more curved hairline not like and M shape more like a half oval. It's about 3/4 inch above my highest forehead wrinkle so it's semi far up unless I'm exaggerating.

I've heard that thyroid problems cause eyebrows to thin out and what not. My eyebrows were thick in high school but gradually thinned out, especially on the outer part.

I'm debating whether or not I should go get a doctor's check for thyroid imbalance because my hair recession is very uneven, one side looks like a Lebron James above the temple awkward recession, and the other looks like a typical right on the temple recession but much less thinning and seemed to have stabilized a bit. Also because I have the eyebrow thinning problem.

Is it a confused form of androgenic alopecia or is there something wrong with my thyroid / endocrine system and I should be at the doctor's office rather than on this forum?

Input would be GREATLY appreciated. Any physician's comments would also be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Losing hair from the outer sides of the eyebrows is a common symptom of thyroid problems. Definitely get that checked out. I would advise you to ask for a full thyroid panel rather than just the bog standard TSH test which doesn't always give the full picture.

I'd also advise you not to place all your hope on your hairline recession being thyroid related and therefore curable with treatment. I don't believe thyroid-related hairloss (on the scalp) follows the male pattern.
