Hey everyone, I noticed I was going bald, and was completely depressed.
So about 5 months ago I started using proscar 2.5mg daily. At first I saw no results and I was starting to doubt its effectiveness on me.
I was lucky to not be affected by ANY side effects. I feel the same and nothing changed as far as what was listed as common side effects, and of course what you've all experienced.
Anyways I was a bit inspired to write this to let you know that I have noticed results in my hair loss.
My hair has slowly started filling in, and I'm not loosing or shedding anymore hair.
I'm pretty surprised when I noticed my pillow wasn't covered in hair.
Near month 3 I was going to stop using it because I read that some are nonresponders, but I stook with it and I am glad I did. I hope that these results keep lasting.
I believe it was about 3 weeks ago when I started noticing very little hair loss in shower when shampooing, and until now I feel like my hair is getting thicker, because I don't see a lot of scalp now ( I do cut my hair to the same length frequently). I will also start taking pictures and posting them, even though I should have started this a LONG time ago.
Anyways the main reason for my post is to tell other guys in my situation NOT to stop treatment. I am so glad I didn't. I guess these things just take time and require patience. And this about it this way, if you stop now, what difference will it make? Even if you think it is not working just STICK WITH IT.
Another note I am also using NIOXIN shampoo, not sure which kind but it says thin hair on it. It's a shampoo and conditioner combo.
