heres another that was the same time with just short hair. I have always had a little recession, but what has gotten worse is the temples and diffused thinning

I think i used a bad picture to justify what my hair use to look like. Heres one that was taken a month after back in 2008

I see a bit of improvement on the thickness of the hairline. Baseline pics definitely looks worse than your new pics.

As far as I can see we have pretty similar hairlines, NW 2.5/3. However, the comparison pic you posted shows pretty much the same hairline, only with longer hair. Maybe it was 2.5 and you are a good solid 3 now. Anyhow, if you think Fin is working and experience no side effects feel free to stick with it.

    going on 8th month now.

Okay guys so I have almost reached my 8th month of taking Fin. I have also been taking Nizoral 2% for probably close to four months. Since the last time I took some pictures I do not believe I have lost more hair, maybe even thickened up a bit I will let everyone be the judge. I took some pictures of my hair wet, dry, and an outline of how I would want an ht to look like. I know its not perfect but it's a rough draft. Also, i included a photo before I started to really lose my hair which was taken around halloween 2008. I've never had the real "box" looking hairline, so I'm fine with never having one. Hope to get an HT sometime soon, but being in school its tough and also my mom does not believe that I'm losing my hair and that I am just getting a mature hairline even though my dad was bald. Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you guys think.

One other note, I have not experienced any side effects at all. I wish I would of started Fin a lot sooner than I did and it would of saved my hair a lot. If you are thinking about getting on Fin, but are worried about the sides don't be. For the first few weeks I will admit my libido was down a little, but I believe it was only psychological.

the two lines on the side of my hair is a joke a friend did, not on purpose

After reading the many posts on here regarding standard dosage, I think I will start with .5mg week 1,......5mg(x2) week 2......5mg mon, wed, fri week 3...and so on. I've heard this could be effective at minimizing the probability of side effects. Do you guys have any recommendations regarding dosage or words of wisdom? Thanks.
Hi, it sounds like you've already absorbed some words of wisdom on dosage. It's a good idea to start right off by taking Propecia in a way that minimizes the chance of developing sides, rather than starting with a higher or normal dose and then having to go back and try again with a tapered dose if side effects occur. Good luck with it.

I don't think Its my sides have gone further back, but the "peninsula" have differently gotten thinner. I think its been the propecia killing off the unhealthy hair I'm not quite sure. On the thickness of my hair I do believe it has gotten a bit thicker, but not much I'm still waiting to see some gains in the next several months. Like I said before I have started seeing a lot of hairs popping up, but its still too early to tell.

it looks like you've receeded (might be the way the 2nd pic was taken where your hands were covering your temples) but your hair looks thicker at the front

    what do you think?

October seems so long ago now, but you're only 5 months into treatment. Think of stopping hairloss in it's tracks as the main aim with re-growth as a nice bonus. Even if the hairline doesn't improve you could be preventing a bald spot opening up at the crown, where the drug tends to have it's greatest effect.

I feel like I have stopped shedding as much as before. But I still have not seen a big improvement. I do believe that its on the way, jumped out of the shower to day and saw a ton of shorter hairs starting to pop up on my hairline. Not sure if they are new healthy hair coming in or hair that is miniaturizing. Ill try to put some pictures up tomorrow, just too busy with school right now
