28 and pretty much lost all my hair

    Hello,
I lost pretty much all my hair around a year or two ago. I tried to make it work by shaving my head and growing a beard, and I have heard I look fine from some people, but I just dont think it suits me. I just think I would look way better with hair and I've always been embarassed about it because it started at a young age. I'm looking into treatment options and I am wondering if you guys have any recommendations. I'm looking into visiting "Sure Hair International" in Toronto because i live nearby and seeing what they recommend.

    Thanks for reading

Hello, IMHO you have nothing to lose by trying some treatment. If your balding has happened in such a short time period (1/2 years) like you say, then this factor to some degree is on your side. Yes, you have an aggressive form of MPB but your head has not been devoid of hair for years and years, I would say you have every chance of getting ' some' hair back on to your crown and onto your mid-scalp area. On other people with a similar degree of balding to yourself, who are relatively young and have not been bald for too long, I have seen some relatively good results with minoxidil and daily dermarolling, you would have to take finasteride as well if you wanted to stand a high chance of keeping any gains made by the minoxidil. Again, IMHO I would get on the treatment asap, a hair specialist is likely only to tell you if you are a good candidate (or not) for a HT, or if you don't want to go down that road (which for me is a no) you could try the treatments mentioned above. When it comes to hair lose time is everything. And for what it is worth I personally do not think you look bad with your head shaved as it is now. All the best.

i'm no expert, but I'm not thinking any treatment would give you a full head of thick hair back. I went bald young, too.

you have 2 options, keep it buzzed/shaved and OWN it. Or take the 'hair system' route. Just keeping it real.
