    Help needed. Please respond

    Hello All!

I'm 21 from London and recently went to see a hair specialist called Phillip Kingsley. He told me I had MPB. This wasn't as harrowing for me as it might've been for others, as I've suspected as much for a pretty long time.

In any case I feel the same as many of you must do about the matter: **** this for a game of marbles I'm not going bald

So, let's do this. I'm not on any medication/ specific regimen currently but will be within the next month once I figure out exactly what I'm gonna be doing, as I've seen the horrors that can occur from switching up/ removing things from your regimen.

Now before I can start, I suppose I should work out just how bad things are for me. I will upload some photos I took today of my lid - would be fantastic if someone could tell me what Norwood they think I'm at, aswell as what treatments they think I will respond best to. I expect anyone who decides to help me to be as brutally honest as possible

Finally, I think I should mention what a fantastic place I think forums like this are. As I'm sure you all know, when you start balding, you for some reason feel like the only person who's ever gone through such a terrible process. Places like this offer solidarity and comfort.

    Thanks!

First and foremost, you should have a consultation with a real medical doctor. If you are dealing with male pattern baldness, you are in a great position to treat it since you still have most of your hair. Propecia is your best bet, but you need to speak with and actual doctor about it and understand all potential side effects (considered rare by the medical community). Best of luck!

Thankyou JB Yes I am seeing my GP tomorrow although from what I've heard GP's in the UK are a mixed bag when it comes to hair loss.

Do you think you could let me know what Norwood level I am currently at from my pictures? My crown isn't currently a problem for me as it's pretty much the same as it's been since I was 10 so have not attached a picture, but can do if needed

Id considering looking into the side effects for medications like propecia. I took it for a few months and had sexual side effects and stopped taking it. At 21 I had far less hair than you in these photos. Judging from your photos you have a long way to go before any sort of surgical treatment should be considered.

I had a scar from ear to ear from 4 x HT's in my mid 20s. I'm in my late 30's and like some men the HT didn't work out as I wanted it. Last year I had a trichophytic procedure done to decrease the size of the scar. Unfortunately no previous photos of the scar prior or post trichophytic. Last month out of curiosity I shaved my
