Hi all I am a 27 year old male. Over the past year I have been losing hair all throughout my body, first noticeable at my facial hair over 3 years ago with mild thinning. I went to a family doctor and had them examine the loss said it did not look like alopecia areata or a fungal infection. I also had my TSH checked which came back fine. He said he believes it is linked to my psoriasis. I am continuing to lose hair, I have tried rogaine on those areas since I also have mpb but to no avail.
Does anyone have an idea what it most likely is? Would it still be likely to be alopecia areata/universalis even though the doctor doesn't seem to think so? It is not patchy loss it is just thinning almost like how diffuse male pattern baldness looks, not weak hairs though as in they do not fall out easily from what I have seen from test pulls. It is all throughout my body except legs. No one in my family has had these symptoms. Just not sure if I should go to the dermatologist next or check my thyroid/ check for diabetes, etc. Any advice would be appreciated.
