Propecia might be killing my hair

Hi I am recently 21 started noticing hair was falling out at in December I am tocthe point I do not know what to do I started finasteride and I thought it was working at first slowing my hairloss then recently at about 5 1/2 months it's gonna crazy I've taken a huge hit to my hair and idk what to do within a year I've went from people making comments about how nice and thick my hair is to now people notice my receding hairline how is that possible? Within 3 months I've noticed a huge hairline recession I'm about to give up on finasteride.

This is difficult. I don't notice any hairline recession from the angle in the photo, but it does look like you've lost some density (which has made a scar become visible). This could be due to one of the infamous Finasteride sheds that can occur after several months of taking the drug. If you do a search for Finasteride shedding you'll find a huge number of people posting about exactly the same experience.

The usual advice is to just wait it out and the shed hairs should return. However (and this is why I said "this is difficult") a small number do find that Finasteride makes their hair worse, so I don't want to advise you to continue taking it with the promise that things will improve, because there is that possibility, however small, that you'll be unlucky.

Bottom line: A period of shedding - making the hair look worse - is a well-documented phenomena associated with Finasteride, so if you do read up on the subject and see how common it is, you might feel a bit better about continuing the treatment.
