So unfortunately I have to say hello to my fellow club members. Here is my story. Around new years eve my partner told me they were concerned about the sheer amount of dandruff on my scalp. I noticed I had a zit like growth that itched a lot and so much scalp oil. I shrugged it off as simple acne and dandruff. Then I noticed my scalp turn red and hair shedding like crazy. Sitting at my desk it would shower down onto my arms and into my vision and clog my keyboard. The itching and hair loss got worse and worse. I noticed it wasn't in any particular pattern. Very diffused all over. I felt small bumps. Yesterday I went to my endocrinologist and PCP. The endo did a full blood work. Testosterone DHT CBC nutritional minerals and the like. He said everything was normal and my DHT levels were not high at all. My PCP however took one look at my scalp and said it is seborrheic dermatitis and she treats many other patients with this and can expect to regrow once the flare up is under control. As much as I trust my doctor I wanted to pass through you guys. Included are pictures of my vertex (thinned no patter) the side of my head (thinned with a patch) My big arse forehead (my hair line is intact and untouched) and the back of my head (thinned with a patch or two)
So how boned am I? I was put on spiro Nizoral a topical steroid and propecia. The shampoo and steroid seem to be working and my hair loss has slowed. Although my doctor reassures me it usually grows back within a year after a flare up of this skin disease.
