What am I on the Norwood scale?

I'm 19 years old, I've been on finasteride since around April and although I'm not seeing any sort of regrowth (I don't think you see regrowth with finasteride anyway), I haven't seen as many hairs fall out as they did before I started taking finasteride. I'm just wondering what I am on the Norwood scale, and any advice on monoxidil? The reason why I'm not applying minoxidil at the moment is because I've read a lot of bad stories about shredding, and hardly any improvement with it.

I think you are in the 3's. Finasteride should stop the loss but expect a low libido after use. I take Fin now after an FUT and definitely have lower libido and erections. You are too young to go bald so I suggest start taking and deal with the effects. This will at least buy you time to figure what to do about the erections.

I haven't experienced any side effects with finasteride so far, especially not sexually anyway. But thanks for your advice anyway!

I’d say between a 2 and a 2A. As you are aware, side effects from Propecia are far less common than you might read about on the internet, so if you’re not dealing with any now, you’re good. Adding minoxidil to the mix can be tricky and might just throw you into a shed so if you’re happy with maintaining what you have then don't mess with it. You have only been on Propecia since April so give it more time to see if you get any regrowth.
