22 Male receeding hairline - started using finasteride today, cheaper alternatives UK

Hey,

I knew that my hairline was slowly receeding since I was around 18, however I have only just recently noticed how obvious it is because I have cut my hair short for the first time in years.

I took the leap and decided to get it sorted while I am younger. I have been to a well known hair care centre in the UK in London. I have got some 1mg finasteride, however it cost loads for a whole years worth compared to any other place and I am unsure why. I got a years worth of free shampoo though with it as I have a itchy scalp. However it will be expensive to keep it up year after year for the price it is.

I couldn't get the cream you apply to your head as at the time my blood pressure was too low so I will have to go back for that.

I've heard about this shedding about when using finasteride after a few weeks too.

Hi Cinsnikwah,
You have probably been prescribed to take a brand version of finasteride. Generics are much more cheaper. Moreover, many men buy 5 mg finasteride pills and then split them in 4 parts. In this way the cost of a dose is even more cheaper.
