You situation is fine - stay on Propecia if you wish and see where you stand in another 3 years.
I am the Global Online Representative for Dr. Tejinder Bhatti, Darling Buds Hair Transplant Center, Chandigarh, India.

From your pictures you have no apparent hair loss, so I would say NW1... We would need to see pics with your hair wet, or closer up. May I ask why you're even on finasteride? Are you thinning in the crown or something?

i have %50 change of inherit mpb i guess) based of relatives

Father is okay for 60 years old

Grand dad(fathers) was norwod6 when he was 27 years old

mothers brother is norwood 6 at 50 years old,he was like a norwood 5 at my age i guess based on photos i saw

but my mothers father is 89 years old has a norwood 3 hair ( he had a great hair until now) line with a general thinning (on sides and back too) because of his age i guess

so finasteride is my insurance )

With all due respect, I personally believe your explanation above is a horrible reason to start on finasteride. I am shocked a doctor even prescribed it to you, based on your hypothesis of how you might lose hair based on your genetics.. I am not a doctor, but I do have my masters degree in this stuff and one thing I will tell you, is do not base your potential for MPB solely on genetics. You should consider fin when you start to SEE hair thinning.

Photo says norwood 1 but in reality it may be thinning in higher norwood pattern

taking finasteride is not like eating a damn candy bar... you are taking risks going on finasteride in the first place..you should ONLY consider taking finasteride if you notice hairline recession or noticeable thinning hair... no need to take this risk of negative side effects when you already got a bunch of hairs on your damn head and a norwood 1 hairline you should stop taking that pill right away and wait until you start to bald...

No need to continue taking propecia or bumping this thread. You aren't losing your hair so you really don't need to be here. Come back when/if you actually start losing your hair. This is just a big waste of your/our time.

I would recommend you to quit Propecia right now. you are taking chemical that blocks DHT while you DON'T NEED to block your DHT. This is not a candy (as someone has mentioned). This is chemical that causes side effects, and sometimes permenant effects on your body, and you don't know how your body responds to it in long term.
You don't need Propecia. Take Propecia only if you start suffering an actual hair loss. If you take it early enough when you start suffering hairloss, the result would be good.
