    Scarring from transplant

    Hey guys,

I'm a first time poster and wanted some opinions on the appearance of my scar. I'm conscious that its perhaps wider than it should be?

    Regards,

That picture certainly makes the scar seem wider than it should be but I'd get a doctors opinion. When was the procedure done and can you visit a different doc for an opinion? The good news is that it can be fixed if necessary. Otherwise, were you happy with the transplant results?

      Dr. Rashid,
I am almost two years out from a devastating transplant and am coming to terms with dealing with the scar. Would you recommend derma rolling the scar and applying something like Mederma? This is what I have started doing. What other "at home" sort of regiment would you advise?

The scar is 2 1/2 years old. I'm seriously considering getting fue into the scar so that I can grade my hair short and it not be noticeable.

Jakey, Have you thought about doing SMP on it if you're going to wear your hair that short? Could be a cheaper alternative and leave you with some more donor hair.

Hi, yeah I have, I'm toying between the two. The problem I have is that I had a procedure at the age of 22, which in hindsight I think was a really bad decision because it looks as though I might head towards a point where I might just want to shave all my hair off. I'm sure many people on here are familiar with the story of the young, despairing adult that seeks help, only to be told a hair transplant is their best option, when the reality is somewhat different. So I'm unsure as to which would be the best option aesthetically regarding smp or fue into the scar.
