    Preventing balding at 21

    Hi guys.

I recently turned 21 and I've began to notice that I'm slightly balding. All the males that are older in my family have a lot of hair loss. I try to eat very healthy, what more can I do to prevent balding?

    Propecia, it works! http://www.propecia.com/finasteride/...umer/index.jsp

It should def keep the hair you have and maybe even improve it. Good Luck!

      Thanks.

      Would Rogaine also help?

For sure Rogaine works, however propecia is supposed to be much more effective, works to keep hair in about 90% of men . I think most people, at least in my case, try to hold off on Rogaine because it requires alot more commitment to put it on twice a day, let it dry, etc, and the results usually arnt that great.

The main goal with propecia and rogaine is to keep the hair you have, and maybe thicken the thinning hairs, its alot more difficult to actually grow hair back, although it does happen.

I would say go for the propecia over the rogaine, but if you do go with the rogain get the 5% foam as its much more effective and easy to use then the liquid

There is no gaurentee that either Propecia or Rogaine will work, but they do slow down the hair loss process in a high percentage of patients. Therefore, it is probably worth a try. Especially with a strong family history of hair loss and some existing signs of receding/thinning.

            Thanks guys.

I'll probably go for Propecia then. However, how does it affect the body? Sexual effects, IGF-1, testosterone etc?

Also, how many mg of Propecia should I take daily?

it shouldnt effect you at all! If you worried talk to the doc who gives the the prescription. 2% of men suffer from lower labido that goes back to normal once you stop taking the drug. Also you shouldnt cut the propeica pill in half the normal dosage is a full pill (1mg)

I'm using hair wax everyday (the cheap one that you buy at Hennes & Mauritz), does it hurt my hair?

Also, I've decided to begin with Minoxidil 5%. And to switch to a silicion free shampoo. I'm also taking Vitamin E, 1000mcg of Biotion and Now Foods Bone Calcium daily.

                  What more should I do?

The shampoo won’t make a difference and the wax won’t hurt you hair.
